Shirley was the beneficiary of Doyle Elementary School's annual fundraiser "Liana's Legacy".

"Liana's Legacy" is a fundraising event held to honor the memory of Liana, a student at the Doylestown school, who died from cancer.

Shirley, 70, is a former hospice volunteer who has severe arthritis and suffered a stroke a few months ago. Her doctors suggested an electric scooter. Her son purchased one for her but she needs to transport it.

The proceeds from the school fundraiser were used to pay to have a device installed on Shirley's car so she can be more independant. Thank you to EJ Medical of Holland, Pa for discounting the installation.
